Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner met with German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble. Both expressed confidence in Euro area member states’ efforts to reform and move towards greater integration.
School of Rubens Painting returned to Sanssouci
At the return of a long lost 17th century painting to Schloss Sanssouci, Ambassador Murphy said: “Thanks to the cooperation and commitment of law enforcement experts in both of our two countries and also the good will of both individuals and institutions – this painting’s journey has ended. It has come home.”

Dr. Patricia Davis visited Berlin from the State Department’s Office of Global Programs in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor, where she is the director. She was here to talk to German officials and NGOs about possible U.S.-German cooperation on promoting LGBT issues.
