Appointments for Emergency Travel

Medical emergencies, Student and Exchange Visitor Travel

The Embassy's Consular Section will try whenever possible--on a space-available basis--to expedite interview appointments for applicants with special circumstances (e.g., emergency medical treatment or a death in the family) and students (F or M visas) and exchange program participants (J visas) who need to report to a U.S. educational institution by a certain date. Applicants who need a special appointment for emergency travel may send a facsimile message to the Visa Information Unit explaining and documenting the special circumstances. The Fax number is +353-1-668-8881. Please write “Emergency Travel” in the subject line and include your telephone and return fax numbers.

Business Travel

The Embassy's Consular Section will try whenever possible--on a space-available basis--to expedite interview appointments for work petition (H, L, O, P, or Q visas) to beneficiaries who have an urgent need to enter the U.S., in time to begin employment. Applicants must first contact the Visa Information Service at 1580 47 8472 (or (01) 436-0536 for the credit card option) or +353-1-436-0536 when calling from outside the Republic of Ireland. Preferential treatment will be given to such petition-based cases. If the earliest available interview date is still unacceptable, applicants who need a special appointment for emergency travel may send a facsimile message to the Visa Information Unit explaining and documenting the special circumstances. When requesting a special appointment, please make sure to reference that you have an approved petition case. Preferential treatment is given in such circumstances. The Fax number is +353-1-668-8881. Please write “Emergency Travel” in the subject line and include your telephone and return fax numbers.
